This policy explains how Commercial Carpet Cleaning Perth — "we" and "us" from here — handles personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). It sets out what we collect, why we collect it, who else touches it, and how you can see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Our ABN is 31 713 404 624.
It is deliberately short on legalese and long on specifics, because a privacy policy you cannot follow protects nobody.
What this policy covers
It covers this website and everything that flows from it: the enquiries people send us, the quotes we prepare, and the records of the work we do for customers. This website has no user accounts and no login — there is no password to create here, and no profile of you built behind the scenes.
What we collect
Only what quoting, doing and invoicing the work actually needs.
When you enquire or ask for a quote: your name, business name, phone number, email address, suburb, and whatever you choose to tell us about your premises and its carpet.
If you become a customer: the site address, the areas we cleaned, the dates we attended, the method used, what the work cost and whether the invoice has been paid — plus the emails and messages we exchange along the way. We collect nothing speculative: no birthdays, no job titles, no data bought from anyone.
How we collect it
The information in our records comes from you, every time: through the quote form on this site, over the phone, by email, or in person during a site visit. We do not buy marketing lists and we do not scrape directories.
What we use it for
To answer you, quote you, do the work, invoice it, and keep the books the law requires.
In practice that means responding to your enquiry, preparing and sending your quote, scheduling and delivering the cleaning, invoicing and receipting payment, and keeping the records tax law obliges a business to keep. Where we already look after your carpet, we may also contact you about that carpet — a reminder that a scheduled clean is coming due is part of the service, not a campaign.
Two things we never do: we never sell personal information, and we never hand it to anyone else for their marketing.
Who else touches it
Running a website means a small number of outside services see something. We keep this list short deliberately, and this is all of it:
- The quote form reaches our inbox through a form-delivery service, so what you type in it passes through that service on its way to us.
- Address suggestions in the form come from Google Places, so the partial address you type is sent to Google to be completed.
- Our typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which means Google sees the IP address your browser connects from.
- Videos load only if you press play — until then nothing is requested from YouTube at all, and when it is, we use YouTube's no-cookie player.
Beyond those, our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses — as every web host does.
Overseas handling
The services above are global companies, and the technical data they handle — an IP address, a typed address fragment — may be processed on servers outside Australia, under those companies' own privacy policies. Our customer records are different: they are held in Australia, on systems we control, and they do not leave.
Cookies and tracking
No advertising trackers, and no analytics at all.
At the time of writing this site runs no analytics of any kind. The only thing it stores in your browser is your choice of the light or dark version of the page, so the site looks the way you left it when you come back. That preference sits on your device and is never sent to us.
There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing a cookie banner would be needed for. If we ever add analytics, this policy changes first.
How it is kept safe
Customer records live on password-protected systems we control, and they are seen only by the people who need them to quote, do or invoice your work. This is a small owner-operated business: your details go to the person handling your job, not to a call centre, an offshore processor or a marketing platform.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that never become jobs are kept only while they are worth following up, then cleared out. Records of work actually done — quotes, invoices and payments — are kept for at least seven years, because Australian tax law requires it, and are disposed of once they are no longer needed.
Photographs
We photograph and film carpet and upholstery before and after cleaning, and some of that work appears on this website. The frames never include people, documents, screens or anything that identifies your business or its clients. If you would rather your premises were not photographed at all, tell us before the job and we will not.
Seeing, correcting or deleting what we hold
Ask, and you will get an answer — free, and without a form to fill in first.
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Any of the contact details at the end of this page will do. We respond within a reasonable time and at no charge.
The one limit is the law itself: records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices inside the tax-retention window, cannot be deleted early — but we will tell you exactly which records those are and when they fall due.
If you are not happy
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first — in a business this size, the person who reads your complaint is the person who can fix it, usually the same day. If we cannot resolve it between us, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date at the top of the page. We do not weaken a promise quietly: a change to what we collect or who touches it would be visible in the clauses themselves, dated the day it took effect.
